As this often means fishing near all sorts of obstacles Mark opts for the razor sharp and super strong Arma Point SR hooks in sizes 6 and 7, combined with 25 lb Coretex hooklink material, Safety Lead Clips and 5-10 metres of 30 lb Illusion as a snagleader.

Spug managed to land a 32lb 10oz and 30lb 8oz common, before landing ‘Charlie’ (pictured) at 42lb 4oz and a fully scared mirror at 37lb 10oz.

Spug used a Fox FX1 rod, Stratos 12000 MAG reel, Fox Camo Soft Steel mainline with a Horizon lead and size 8 Arma Point SSC hook!

Well, as you can see from the photograph, Mark's task was ‘mission accomplished’ in the shape of a zander just shy of double figures, caught using the Fox Predator Elite pike rods and Stratos FS 10000 reels.

The four fish weighing 33lb, 42lb, 44lb and 46lb were caught by fishing at a range of over 500 metres on a natural lake surrounded by a marshy, dense bed of reeds and banks of water lilies.
